After Murillo, on canvas (unframed)

Description

I made this picture in response to a huge painting by Murillo at the Wallace Collection in central London. I was struck by its peaceful quality, and the layers of colour shining through.

If you visit, and compare the original, you’ll see that I left out the figure of young John the Baptist, whom Murillo included bottom right.
